I agree, diyStew is a dumb name for a website. But have you ever tried to find a domain name for a website you wanted to create? It’s almost impossible to find one that will come even close to representing the kind of website you want to build. This was the best I could do, cut me some slack.
I wanted to build a site where I could show people the wide array of home improvement ideas and DIY projects that I’ve done around my house in hopes they’ll learn what to do, and what not to do, themselves. I’ve also bought dozens of products, tools, books, etc. to help in my quests that I’ll be reviewing. I’ve either used, broke, gave away or threw away all of the products on this site.
Some of my projects have turned out great, some have turned out decent and some have turned out like shit. Yep, shit. I’m a foul mouthed, middle aged and slightly bald man who’s tried to save as much money as possible by doing things himself. I not only save money that way, but I also look like a genius to my wife, at least some of the time. Other times she’ll look at my work, look me square in the eyes and ask me, “Are you fuckin serious?”
So if you’re like me, and want to give everything a try at least once before you call the professionals, or 911 like that time I power nailed my thumb to the wall, then take a look around and maybe you’ll find something useful. If you have any questions, just ask them on the project pages or the product review pages or both or neither, your call.
Oh…and that house in the picture at the top of the page, yea, I wish. My house couldn’t even be in the same neighborhood as that one, but it makes me look like I build real nice houses and stuff…so…
